Founded in 1906 and affiliated with the Churches of Christ, Abilene Christian University (ACU) has carried on its mission of “educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world” for over 100 years. ACU has historically held the distinction of being the largest U.S. organization that still requires daily chapel attendance and also has required Bible courses each student must take. A gift dedicated to God is the meaning of corban and serves as the foundation of all that happens at this private, liberal arts university located in Salem, Oregon. Corban University (CU) was first established in 1935 in Phoenix, AZ but now has its main campus on a 142 acre wooded hillside on the outskirts of Salem, OR. CU’s faculty and administration strive to bring a biblical perspective to all areas of study and practice. CU offers undergraduate degrees in over 10 majors and numerous areas of study. The CU graduate programs are administered through three schools: 1) Hoff School of Business, 2) School of Education and Counseling and 3) School of Ministry. Whitworth University (WU) is a private liberal arts university located in Spokane, WA that has educated the minds and hearts of its students since 1890. The university is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Rooted in the Anabaptist, Pietist and Wesleyan traditions, Messiah College (MC) is a liberal arts college located in Grantham, PA that was founded in 1909. MC was founded by Brethren in Christ Church but is currently nondenominational. The college continues to emphasize an education that highlights service and leadership for its students. The academic program is anchored by MC’s four schools: 1) School of the Arts, 2) School of Business, Education and Social Sciences, 3) School of Science, 4) School of Engineering and Health, and 5) School of the Humanities.
