Benedictine University

Established in 1887, Benedictine University is a private Catholic institution located in the suburbs of Chicago. Benedictine offers numerous undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and distance learning students earn the same degrees as on-campus students. The university was named the safest four-year campus in Illinois by StateUniversity.com and was ranked among America’s top colleges by Forbes two years in a row.

Online Public Health Degrees
Benedictine’s Master of Public Health degree program can be completed online and does not require a residency. The degree does require a 240-hour internship that can be arranged at a convenient location. Core subjects include biostatistics, epidemiology, health services management, health policy, behavioral and social aspects of public health, environmental health, and biology. Students can choose to complement the degree with a certificate in health management and policy, disaster management, or health education and promotion.

Accreditation
Benedictine University receives its regional accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA-HLC). The university is a member of many prestigious organizations, including the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC).

Concordia University-Nebraska

Concordia University, Nebraska is a private university located in Seward, Nebraska. The university was founded in 1894 and joined the Concordia University System in 1995. U.S. News & World Report listed the university in the top tier of the Midwest Regional Universities category in its 2013 rankings.

Online Public Health Degrees
Concordia University, Nebraska’s Master of Public Health degree program is designed to meet the demand for skilled public health workers in the U.S. The program can be completed online, but those who specialize in community health education must participate in a week-long mission trip to a developing country. Students can also specialize in the health policy and education concentration. Students can earn the degree in two years and eight weeks by taking six sequential courses per year. The program can also be completed in two years if students do the required field practicum while taking a course.

Creighton University

Established in 1878, Creighton University is a Jesuit university located in Omaha, Nebraska. Online Public Health Degrees
Creighton’s online Public Health Master’s Degree program is ideal for students who want to advance or begin a career in the public health services industry. Students choose a concentration in health policy and ethics or public health services administration and complete one course per eight-week session. Near the end of the program, each student gains practical experience by working under the supervision of a public health professional. The degree takes about two and a half years to earn.

Creighton University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA-HLC). The schools is one of 28 members of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU).

Grand Canyon University

Grand Canyon University, or GCU, has been providing students with a quality education since 1949. The campus is located in the center of Phoenix, and the school focuses on Christian values. GCU offers on-campus and online programs. Furthermore, renowned sources, such as Fortune Small Business and Online Education Database, have ranked the university as one of the top colleges for online classes.

Online Public Health Degrees
Online students can earn a Master in Public Health from GCU. The degree will allow graduates to work in a variety of areas in the health industry. For instance, they can focus on preventing and controlling diseases as well as socio-political factors that impact the nation’s health. To earn the degree, students will need to complete 48 course hours.

Accreditation
GCU has institutional accreditation from the Middle States, New England and North Central agencies. The Southern, Northwest and Western agencies have also certified the school. Furthermore, the Higher Learning Commission officially accredited the university in 1968, and GCU has continued to earn the accreditation from the organization during each follow up assessment.

Indiana Wesleyan University

Indiana Wesleyan University is a Christian university with a 345-acre campus in the city of Marion. The university has increased its enrollment from 2,000 to 15,872 since 1987 and is now the largest private university in the state. U.S. News & World Report ranks IWU 17th in the Midwest Regional Universities category and sixth in the Best Value Schools category.

Indiana Wesleyan University’s online Master of Public Health degree is a 45-credit generalist degree that focuses on biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, health services administration, and social and behavioral studies. Liberty University, a private, Christian university, is the largest university in Virginia. It was founded in 1971 and has had a distance learning program since 1985. Liberty is the largest Christian university in the world. Its distance learning program offers certificates, undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees in a variety of fields.

Online Public Health Degrees
Liberty University offers an online Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in either Health Promotion or Nutrition. The program requires forty-two hours of course work and can be completed in two years of full-time study. All students must complete a practicum in which they work with a public health agency or provider in their area of specialization.

Accreditation
Liberty University is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees through the doctoral level. This means courses taken at Liberty are generally accepted by most tuition reimbursement programs, private and government.

Loma Linda University

Loma Linda University is a private university associated with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. It was founded in 1905 and is located in Loma Linda, Calif., five miles south of San Bernardino. LLU has an enrollment of 3,500 students. Its School of Public Health officially opened in 1967.
